The best guitar pedal company ever →
I purchased a Visual Sound guitar pedal yesterday. When opening the box, I was delighted to find a small flyer saying that a proportion of Visual Sound’s profits went towards the E3 initiative (helping to spread awareness of, and education about, HIV and AIDS in Africa).
A fucking guitar pedal company did this. It was unexpected and very touching. Why can’t all companies do something...

Interesting turn of events concerning loudness of... →
The C.A.L.M. act sounds great… though I was recently hearing from a TV/film mixer who was concerned with how this might pan out.
This mixer was saying that the reason commercials are so loud is that there is no onus on them being artful and so they do not need any sort of dynamic range. The opposite is true of movies, who use creative sound design and tasteful mixing to elevate the story...
